Asbestos is a hazardous substance has been widely used for years. It has really been used since ancient times, but it came widely used during the industrial revolution in countries like England and the United States. It has been used in a wide variety of industrial products due to its fire retardant properties. It has been used in roofing shingles and tiles, the brakes of vehicles, textiles, electrical insulation, insulation, construction and cement. Because of this many types of plant workers and their families and people who bought their products have been victims of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, mesothelioma. Like most people who contracted the deadly disease make informed choices through their workplace, many people have applied mesothelioma over the years.

Mesothelioma is a cancer that is both difficult to diagnose and difficult to treat. It often resembles other forms of cancers such as lung cancer.

It attacks the cells that line the walls of your internal organs, causes hardening and inhibits their functions.

In most cases the lungs are the organs that are most affected. Sufferers will often complain of breathlessness, fatigue, pain in the chest wall, and may even sometimes spitting blood. But as there is no screening process for mesothelioma, a large number of cases initially go unnoticed.

Because mesothelioma occurs in only about 40 million people compared to one thousand to one million for lung cancer.

Then direct links were formed between asbestos exposure and cancer. Today, it is still difficult to establish a concrete link between the workplace and what mesothelioma.

Today, the protection of workers ensures that a worker should not be unwittingly exposed to asbestos. Precautions such as fans and combinations of risk are taken during the removal or the use of asbestos. The advantage of a claim of mesothelioma is that it brings to a community awareness on the dangers of using this dangerous substance.
