There are three types of mesothelioma cancer. This is called a pleural effusion, if the lung disease, affects the abdominal peritoneal effusion and pericardial, if effects on the heart. About 75% of cases of pleural mesothelioma and 20% are peritoneal or pericardial effusion. There are also some other rare types of mesothelioma, the remaining 5%. All these statistics are poorly documented. There are many cases that are undiagnosed or unreported in the world:

Pleural mesothelioma:
Among the various types of cancer, mesothelioma occupy only a small percentage. However, among the various types of mesothelioma, pleural mesothelioma makes about three to four cases documented. In the fluid between the chest and the mesothelium lining is constructed.

Peritoneal mesothelioma:
Peritoneal Mesothelioma is a rare disease. Approximately 10-20% of documented cases of peritoneal mesothelioma diagnosed with mesothelioma. Types of mesothelioma affects the stomach of the patient. Abdominal mesothelial cells do not function properly in this sickness. The disease is caused by inhaling asbestos fibers through the mouth.

Pericardial Mesothelioma:
The rarest of mesothelioma, pericardial mesothelioma, mesothelial layer that affects the liver. The main symptoms of pericardial mesothelioma are chest pain, shortness of breath, fever, heart palpitations, fatigue and cough. Like all types of mesothelioma, there is no cure for this species doctors nothing I can do is pain and discomfort symptoms and help patients reduce comfortable and quiet death.

The fibers travel through the digestive tract and parts of the digestive system processed. The layer of the mesothelium in rapidly dividing cells and lasts longer.

This leads to stomach cancer and also other parts of the body. To resolve the most important symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, constipation, fever, chest pain, weight loss and problems. The majority of movement or constipation, bloating and abdominal tissue sections are the classic signs of peritoneal mesothelioma. The disease is under various forms by using X-ray scanners, diagnosed by MRI, PET, laparoscopy, laparotomy, thoracotomy, and so on. The main risk factors for this disease is exposure to asbestos fibers and asbestos dust.

However, the following factors also increase the risk of this disease:
* A family history of risk factors for children with cancer.
* A smoker, the increased risk of contracting the disease than non-smokers, which seems to have the same level and amount of exposure to asbestos fibers.
* The zeolite is a mineral that is very similar to asbestos from properties and it seems as dangerous as asbestos.
* Thorium dioxide is used in X-rays and a trigger for cancer.

Mesothelioma is a rare type of cancer that can affect the mesothelial cells of the outer membranes of some internal organs of the body. The types of mesothelioma cancer can be classified according to tumor position. When the tumor can be detected in the pleural, “most of the outer membrane of the lungs, called pleural mesothelioma. When the tumor can be detected in the peritoneum, the lining of the abdominal organs, which is called peritoneal mesothelioma.

The last type of malignant mesothelioma is cancer when the tumor can be revealed in the pericardium, “the lining of the heart, called pericardial mesothelioma. Here are descriptions of each type of mesothelioma cancer in more detail.

Pleural mesothelioma. Pleural mesothelioma is a type of mesothelioma cancer where tumors in the pleura, the outer membrane wall surrounding the lungs. The pleura has two layers, the first layer is the parietal pleura. The parietal pleura is the outer layer of the pleura and is attached to the chest wall. The second layer is the visceral pleura, which is the inner layer of the pleura and is attached to the lining of the lungs. The gap between the two layers is called the pleural cavity in case of pleural effusion fluid can be seen as a symptom of pleural mesothelioma cancer. The symptoms of pleural mesothelioma can be fluid spill, pleural thickening, pleural calcification, shortness of breath, cough and general weakness. Pleural mesothelioma can be treated by three options – surgery option, the option of chemotherapy and radiation option. Doctors may do a combination of the three options to achieve effective treatment strategy. The cause of pleural mesothelioma is often the inhalation of asbestos.

Peritoneal mesothelioma. Peritoneal mesothelioma is a cancer where the tumor development of mesothelioma in the peritoneum, most of the outer membrane of the internal organs of the abdomen. This type can be diagnosed and treated in the same way as pleural mesothelioma. Also, the results of exposure to asbestos.

Pericardial mesotelioma.El less common type of mesothelioma cancer is pericardial mesothelioma. There are far fewer reported cases of pericardial mesothelioma, compared with other forms of mesothelioma. The symptoms of pericardial mesothelioma can be generalized weakness, cough, chest pain and other heart-related signs. The diagnosis and treatment of this type is similar to the diagnosis and treatment of the other two types.

Benign Mesothelioma. The malignant mesothelioma tumors involving the threat of becoming malignant after some time, so it is best to have removed the benign tumors. The best treatment option for mesothelioma is benign tumors have been removed surgically.

It is usually caused by exposure to asbestos or asbestos.

Its most common site is the pleura (the outer sheath of the lungs and internal chest wall), but it may also occur in the peritoneum (the sheath of the abdominal cavity), the heart or the pericardium (a sac that surrounds the heart .) If this occurs in the pleura is called “Malignant pleural mesothelioma,” and if it occurs in the peritoneum, then it is called “peritoneal mesothelioma.”

Most people who develop mesothelioma have worked on jobs where they inhaled asbestos particles, or have been exposed to dust or asbestos fibers otherwise. It was suggested that washing the clothes of a family member who worked with asbestos can put a person at risk of developing mesothelioma.

Unlike lung cancer, there is no association between mesothelioma and smoking, but smoking greatly increases the risk of asbestos-induced cancers. COMPENSATION, legally, it is asbestos poisoning is an important issue in mesothelioma cases (in several countries have laws relating to asbestosis and mesothelioma, known in English as “mesothelioma law”).

Mesothelioma symptoms include shortness of breath due to pleural effusion (fluid between the lung and rib cage) or chest pain, and general symptoms such as weight loss. It can be diagnosed with a study of chest X-rays and a CT scan, and confirmed with a biopsy (tissue sample) and microscopic examination.

Thoracoscopy or thoracoscopy (inserting a tube with a camera into the chest) can be used to perform biopsies. This allows the introduction of substances such as talc to obliterate (clog or close) the pleural space (medical procedure called pleurodesis), which prevents more fluid from accumulating and pressing on the lung. Despite treatment with chemotherapy or chemotherapy, radiation therapy or radiation therapy or sometimes surgery, the disease is a poor prognosis. Currently, research and testing for early detection of mesothelioma is ongoing.

Peritoneal mesothelioma attacks the peritoneum, a tissue in the abdomen. This type of mesothelioma accounts for 10%, or up to 20% of all mesothelioma cases. It is different from the most common form of mesothelioma, which attacks the pleura, a garrison of tissue in the chest. The symptoms are different, and prognosis is also different. However, as with all types of mesothelioma, peritoneal mesothelioma is often attributed to exposure to asbestos, the mineral carcinogen used widely in the years before stringent regulations were imposed in the 80s.

Case of Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Between 100 and 500 cases of peritoneal mesothelioma are diagnosed each year in the United States. Almost all individuals who are diagnosed with this cancer have a history of exposure to asbestos. In many cases, pleural mesothelioma (chest) may extend into the peritoneal cavity, but this still would be a diagnosis of pleural mesothelioma (which has metastasized), is not considered a case of peritoneal mesothelioma that begins in the peritoneum.

Symptoms of Peritoneal Mesothelioma

The signs and symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma may include:

* Abdominal bloating
* Lumps of tissue in the abdomen
* Abdominal pain
* A change in bowel habits, such as frequent diarrhea or constipation
* Unexplained weight loss

Unfortunately, it is common than peritoneal mesothelioma do not show symptoms until the cancer has advanced.

Peritoneal Mesothelioma Diagnosis

The people who ultimately are diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma usually first visit your doctor for symptoms of abdominal inflammation. There are other possible causes of abdominal inflammation than the peritoneal mesothelioma, and cirrhosis of the liver. It may take some time and a range of medical testing to correctly identify the peritoneal mesothelioma.

Once properly diagnosed peritoneal mesothelioma, is difficult to predict how a patient will be aggressive because this variant of mesothelioma has shown a very different behavior. It is possible or not, that a patient may have severe and recurrent abdominal pain. The cancer can also spread by peritoneal metastasis to lymph nodes.

Treatment for Peritoneal Mesothelioma

There is still no cure for peritoneal mesothelioma. However, some studies are showing promising results. It is best to ask your doctor about the details of your case – the stage of cancer, its location, the prognosis, and possible treatment options.

Benign Mesothelioma:
The benign form of mesothelioma is commonly develops in the pleura. This is the only form of mesothelioma which healing and recovery is favorable.

Testicular Mesothelioma:
This is the rarest type of malignant mesothelioma, to date, there have been fewer than 100 reported cases. Testicular mesothelioma develops in the tunica vaginalis of the testes.

Peritoneal Mesothelioma:
This is one that develops in the tissue of the abdominal cavity, known as the peritoneal membrane. Approximately 30% of mesotheliomas are present in patients of this type.

Pericardium Mesothelioma:
This type of mesothelioma develops in the heart tissue, known as the pericardium.

Pleural Mesothelioma:
This type of mesothelioma develops in the tissue of the lungs, known as the pleura. It is the most common form of malignant mesothelioma, about 80 percent of cases are pleural in origin.

Peritoneal mesothelioma is a type of mesothelioma affects the peritoneal region of the body. The membrane abdominal mesothelium is called the peritoneum. Peritoneal Mesothelioma is a very small number of all cases of mesothelioma about 30%. We think that patients suffering from this form of mesothelioma have been exposed to asbestos at some point in the past.

The exposure period required for the necessary peritoneal mesothelioma to develop is unknown. Common symptoms include swelling in the region of the abdomen, abdominal pain, weight loss, lumps in the region of the abdomen, anemia and obstruction of small and or large intestine. Peritoneal mesothelioma patients are generally considered beyond cure.

There is no cure for the only alternative available pointing to increased life expectancy and improve quality of life of patients. Asbestos affects the peritoneum is how cells respond to the membrane fibers themselves. A thickening of the peritoneal membrane is the usual answer to these fibers.

Fluid begins to accumulate in the abdomen. Treatment of peritoneal mesothelioma include drainage of fluid in the abdomen, surgical resection is an effort to remove tumors more visible as possible. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy is sometimes combined if procedures need to be aggressive.

Theoretically, chemotherapy and radiotherapy attempts to kill rapidly dividing cells as efficiently as possible. There is also the alternative of intraperitoneal chemotherapy in these cases. The statistics on survival rates of mesothelioma is not encouraging, they range from as little as 4 months for as long as decades in exceptional cases, but normally, the survival period is 12 to 18 months. The life is largely dependent on what type of treatment undergone successful treatment and the stage where the cancer was caught. Make an accurate prediction on the success of each patient is very complicated.

Most patients, however, are mostly too far along radiotherapy and chemotherapy to be effective. At this stage, treatment is subject to two things in mind, the pain relief and extending the lifespan of patients.
